Marketing Assistant - Kickstart Opportunity

The Retail Data Partnership (TRDP) exists to help retailers flourish. A range of innovative technology and data services allows us to support our customers to better understand their business and thrive in an increasingly competitive retail world.  Established in 1997, TRDP has built up a customer base of over 3000 customers.  The main customer groups are independent convenience retailers, wholesalers, brand partners and other services providers such as payments.

We are supporting the Kickstart scheme and are currently advertising the following opportunity:

Reporting To Marketing Manager
Hours 35 contracted hours.
Life Assurance 4 times gross annual salary for death in service
Pension Workplace Pension Scheme Minimum requirement 5% by employee and 3% by employer
Holiday 25 working days holiday plus statutory holidays – holiday year runs from 1st January to 31st December, increases with long service
Probationary Period 3 months
Notice Period One-week notice during probation (of 3 months), 1 month thereafter.
Bonus Scheme Bonuses are non-contractual, not guaranteed and can be removed at TRDPs’ sole discretion. Bonus payments are non-consolidated for all other contractual and non-contractual benefits including (but no limited to) pension and life assurance
Summary of Role
  • Attitude and personality are an essential requirement of this role as the new employee will be trained on the skills and responsibilities required by the role.  Playing an active role in the marketing department this role will be involved in all areas of marketing as required by the opportunities and needs of the company.

  • Good self-organisation - would be expected to work to establish time frames
  • Strong confident communicator (both written, oral and listening). Equally comfortable liaising with internal and external customers.

  • Motivated, outgoing, organised individual with a structured reliable approach to both resolving issues and developing solutions
  • Strong work ethic, requires high standards of self, able to be flexible in order to get the job done, able to work under pressure when deadlines approach.

Key Responsibilities
  • Increase awareness with both partners and the wider industry raising TRDP’s profile amongst key players in the market.
  • Maintain consistent and regular communication with existing and potential Customers / Partners
  • Planning, developing and deploying marketing campaigns for a wide variety of products targeted at sectors including retail, hospitality and more.
  • Working with the Marketing Manager to help develop communication strategies.
  • Taking ownership of maintaining the momentum, and reporting on the progress of campaigns to management.
  • Utilising traditional forms of marketing such as direct mail and advertising.
  • Utilising digital forms of marketing search as corporate websites, email, SEM/SEO and PPC.
  • Understanding customer opinions of the products under your remit and help shape future versions.
